The Liberal Democrats fought a positive campaign for the town council seat in St Radigunds ward, said the Lib Dem's local candidate, Dean Stiles.

"With so many independent candidates the vote split," said Dean Stiles. "I urge voters to get behind the Lib Dems and help break the Labour stranglehold over Dover," he said.
"We found over the course of the campaign that our support increased; when people hear what Liberal Democrats have to say they find it interesting and appealing. Unlike the other parties, we are not bank rolled by big business or trade unions so we have to work much harder to get our message across," said Dean Stiles
"We need to stop the tit-for-tat politics of Labour and Conservative candidates and put the interests of Dover residents first," he said. "Dover's voters deserve better than candidates arguing national politics at the expense of local issues," Dean Stiles said.
"My thanks to everyone who supported me and cast their vote for me. The hard work carries on and Liberal Democrat campaigners will continue to work to meet the concerns of residents in St Radigunds and elsewhere in Dover and Deal" he said.
