Patrick Acarnley said: "We are appalled at the unravelling revelations coming out from Deal Town Council. Local residents have told us of their anger and dismay that their very own local council, should be operating in an unprofessional manner."  John Trickey said: "Clearly, the ruling Labour majority and the large Conservative opposition group have failed in their duties to ensure best practice and value for money for Deal's community." Antony Hook, Liberal Democrat campaign manager said: "Between them they have a wealth of community experience and commercial professionalism to ensure that, with the help of Mill Hill voters, these skills will be brought to bear on our Town Council if elected as your Councillors." The Candidates:Patrick Acarnley, who has worked for large international companies and now runs his successful print management business in Deal, brings a useful business background to local issues in Deal.  "I know that business in Deal needs change. We really must do more to support small and medium scale businesses to invest and remain in the Deal area. This will be of benefit to all Deal residents, particularly the young," says Patrick. On law and order, I will do all I can to restore Deal Police station to a 24 hour a day operation as it was many years ago - this is what so many local people have requested."  He has lived in East Kent since 1987 and in Deal since 1997. Married to a NHS midwife, he has three adult children. Patrick is a member of the Deal Society, The Deal Chamber of Commerce, is a Neighbourhood Watch street volunteer, and is a representative of the public for Deal Hospital. He was a volunteer steering committee member for the Deal Town Council Town Plan (published 2007). He has been a member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport since 1983. John Trickey lives in Deal and runs, Jacetts, a specialist sportswear and corporate wear clothing company in Deal, which sponsors the Deal Sunday League. John is active managing and developing local events. He resurrected Deal Carnival and working with other unpaid volunteers has made it the biggest and best in the southeast. He formed the Deal marshals, volunteer's stewards working throughout the district. His success with the carnival saw him co-opted to the Deal town council events and promotion committee in an advisory capacity. "I have never stood for a councillor seat before but observing the shambles over the last year I do feel its time for change. I joined the Liberal Democrats to give me an opportunity to make changes and help improve Deal.
