Deal Liberal Democrats have chosen local man Nathan Sewell to fight the Deal North seat in the by-election on the 3rd of December.

Nathan said: "I am delighted to be asked to represent Deal North but there is much to do to reverse the neglect and apathy of the other parties towards our town. A vote for me is a vote for change."

Nathan is well known in Deal and has strong family and business connections with the town. "Labour gave us sleaze at Westminster, and then introduced it to Deal Town Council: it's time for a breath of fresh air," Sewell said.

Nathan has campaigned on local issues for many years. If elected, he has pledged to work to get the money provided to support local businesses spent in Deal, and not just Dover. "I will also be fighting for a job centre in Deal to help job seekers and local employers," he said.

He wants the community consulted over development plans for the Quarterdeck and Regents bingo buildings and to make sure the new Astor theatre is for local dance and drama groups.

Outlining his campaign to local Lib Dem campaigners Sewell said: "It's really important that plans for a GP surgery and community centre are not watered down by the planners.

He wants support for continued funding for the local community police officer. "I will be making strong representations to the district council to provide an easy way to report faulty street lights, so we can all feel safer at night,' Sewell said.

Nathan Sewell, if elected will join fellow Liberal Democrats councillors, John

Trickey and Patrick Arcanley and Keith Turner, who have been working tirelessly for the people of Mill Hill and Deal since they were elected to Deal Town Council.

"With all the recent turmoil on Deal Town Council, it is time for a change if we want to save our town. A strong Liberal Democrat presence on the council is the way to get the council working for Deal," Sewell said.

"The people of North Deal and Deal town centre have the opportunity to make three hard-workers into four by voting for me in the by-election on the 3rd of December," he said.
